The Skilled Migration Program is a Government initiative to address skills shortages within the Australian workforce. If you are a skilled professional, tradesperson or are graduating from an Australian univeristy you may be eligible to apply. The Skilled Visa gives you Permanent Residency in Australia. There have been a lot of changes in Skilled Visas recently, so please ask us the latest information.

The skilled migration process:
SKILLS ASSESSMENT - First, you will need to have your trade or professional qualifications or skills assessed by an Australian Assessment Body. The assement reqirements are very detailed, particularly in relation to the trades. Failure rates are high, often due to incomplete documentation. Our experience can give you the best chance of success.
VISA APPLICATION - Once you have completed the Skills Assessment process, you apply for your visa. It is important that the application is completed according to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) guidelines. Incorrect or incomplete documentation may cause your visa to be delayed or refused. The Department’s visa application charges are non-refundable in the event of a refusal.

Our migration agents have the experience and knowledge to guide you through this process and give you the best chance of getting your visa quickly and efficiently. We have an excellent success rate with skills assessments and skilled visa applications.

Australia needs experienced business people who want to bring their expertise and investment to Australia. If you have proven skills and experience in business or senior business management you may be eligible to apply for a Business and Investor visa.

This area of Migration Law is subject to very strict regulations and guidelines, but the criteria are easier to satisfy for those applicants who can secure sponsorship from a State or Territory government. Our business migration team works closely with State and Territory governments and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to ensure that applications submitted on behalf of our clients have the optimum chance of success.

Our services include:

  • Advising which is the most appropriate visa for your curcumstances.
  • Preparation of an effective business plan.
  • Preparation and submission of your application for State or Territory sponsorship (if sponsorship is required).
  • Preparation and submission of your visa application.
  • Liaison with decision making bodies.
  • Assisting with your transition from temporary to permanent residency.
  • Introductions to useful contacts within your new business community.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
For the majority of business or investor visa applicants, obtaining permanent residency is a two stage process.

BUSINESS VISA

Stage One – Application for a provisional business visa. This stage may also include an application for State or Territory sponsorship. Applications for business skills visas must be supported by a well thought out business plan.
If your provisional visa application is successful, you may then establish or purchase an interest in one or two qualifying businesses in Australia.
Stage Two – If you have made a success of your Australian business, and you can satisfy the relevant government criteria, you will become eligible to apply for permanent residency.

We will monitor your progress throughout your application period, and we can also reccommend experienced professionals within your new business community such as accountants, lawyers, business brokers and bankers. It is important that you continue to deal with professionals who understand the business migration process and offer the right type of support.
